High energy density lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are essential parts of our modern society. Nevertheless, the instability of the anode and the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) in LIBs impediments the application of Si anodes in LIBs. In this work, Saman Hosseinpour and his colleagues from Sichuan University used a surface modification route to improve the stability of the Si anodes for application in high-energy density LIBs.
